Saudis arrest 40 Christians for praying

Funny how this kind of thing doesn't get much reportage. The reason that SAudi ARabia does this is "'Freedom of religion is not recognized or protected under the country's laws and basic religious freedoms are denied to all but those who adhere to the state-sanctioned version of Sunni Islam,' the State Department said in an annual report."
And this is because of a particular interpretation of a decree that Muhammed made that only Islam should be practiced in the pilgrimmage cities. This has been extended to the whole of Saudi Arabia. When considering interfaith issues we need to recall this kind of thing as well as the positives. Somehow holding on to both the good and the bad, likewise wihtin our own traditions.
