What a fascinating article this is. There are two things that I think it raises for us as issues. One is the way that gender is construed and particualrly the imagery surrounding women. The other is the way that suposedly objective scientific knowledge can actually be very reflective of the cultural mores and priorities of society. Just because scientific method aims to offset subjectivity doesn't make it is entirely objective; what is researched, how questions are framed and how answers are preseneted are all culturally affected.
