Any surplus is used to break water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. On days when the wind is weak, the stored hydrogen is used to produce electricity, either by burning it in a combustion engine or fusing it chemically with oxygen in a fuel cell, a kind of battery. The only by-product of the operation is water."



What I thought was good also is this message for th NIMBY faction in Britain: "People were a bit concerned that the wind turbines would make a lot of noise, but they don't."v Okay so the original speaker didn't mean it as a message to Brits, but we can take a hint. Can't we?
