In the last two churches I was vicar of we used to make palm crosses as part of the service on Palm Sunday. Often I would use the making process as a way of talking about the significance of the celebration. As for the teaching points: I usually made the following; good creation, humans twist and bend what God makes good into [a sign of] sin and death. But God has a way of changing things ....
