MPs demand higher air and road taxes

Using their unfair and unassailable Commons majority to push through big mistakes like the NIR legislation and yet, so far, the UK Labour government has fought shy of doing what really is necessary on climate,
The government should stop "running scared of critical tabloid headlines" and hike up taxes on aviation and gas-guzzling "Chelsea tractors", a cross-party committee of MPs said today.

Perhaps that is about to change?
