As one of the comments says:
"There may be a niche for biodiesel, using by-products that we'd throw away anyway (like old vegetable oil) but it would never make sense to grow plants for this purpose -- it would be too expensive."
Article plus comments makes a good case briefly for not seeing the stuff as a long-term solution.

If only we could work out what that comment means: what statement or perspective is being 'incredulised'. Worth noting the date of the original posting too. I was interested to note that it turns out to be accurate provided we realise that 'expensive' means in terms of the environment and 'real cost' economics, not in terms of short-term rigged market.
