Pain is in the mind

... if you ever wondered whether there was something in those stories of meditators learning to control pain, well, it looks from this article that there may be something in it. Not that the article takes the slant on it that I've just given you; no. It's all about using brain imaging to give 'biofeedback' [no, it's not just a 1970's fad] which can help people to somehow learn to control the pain. More: it may have useful applications for dementia treatment and depression where the functioning of various areas of the brain is affected. It'd be interesting to keep an eye on this because, as we all know, there appears to be a God-spot in the brain too ...
