True or not; there are plenty willing to believe ....

... that these photos depict real events. I must say that with this particular set of pix, the reasons to beleive they are faked seem quite convincing, to me. On the other hand it seems plausible that such things may have gone on -the kind of things that being a soldier requires of one's mind and the kind of culture that I regularly observe among the military [and I grew up next to an RAF base] make it seem quite possible.

The intriguing question is, if these pix are faked, why? Who gains what from them? It is clear that British reputation among Muslims will suffer [and any demonstration of falsehood of the photos won't be heard by most]. And if they are not faked ...

All that such violence requirtes to grow is the belief that the other deserves it somehow [either because they are sub-human or wicked] and a sense that permission is given and away we go [see The Obedience Experiment for a disturbing confirmation]. All of which has implications for Christian discipleship needing, eg, a corporate dimension and a careful examination of corporate formedness ....

"Spend and tax" not "tax and spend"

I got a response from my MP which got me kind of mad. You'll see why as I reproduce it here. Apologies for the strange changes in types...
