Apparently one of the major lessons from the Twin Towers attack was: "In a connected world, ordinary people often have access to better information than officials do." Worth reflecting on. It may illustrate the main thesis of 'The Wisdom of Crowds' though I suspect that the interactivity and the recruitment aspects of what went in the evacuation may militate against it. I'd certainly be interested to get a Wisdom of Crowds perspective on it.
