[Footprint] Alternatives to Buying ROCs

So you've perhaps wondered if you are better off spending your hard earned wonga on something other than ROCs? However, your aim is the same - to reduce your non-renewable energy use to an minimum.

So you invest in:
  1. Insulation for your home.
  2. Solar water heating panels for your roof.
  3. Willow coppicing or bamboo growing for heating.
  4. A wood stove.
  5. Simple charcoal production.
  6. A bicycle!
  7. A wind turbine.
You stop:
  1. Driving a car.
  2. Flying in planes.
  3. Taking buses.
  4. Buying as much 'stuff' as you used to.
Now would you have been better of to have powered your (limited) lifestyle using 'mass production' of renewable energy by a combination of consumption reduction and buying ROCs? Probably. Let's face it mass production is virtually always more efficient than small scale production.

"Spend and tax" not "tax and spend"

I got a response from my MP which got me kind of mad. You'll see why as I reproduce it here. Apologies for the strange changes in types...
