I think that we Christians really need to listen to and understand people who are acquainted with Christian faith yet choose another faith to live by. Their cocerns and criticisms can help us to understand our culture better and to connect better with spiritual seekers. In this spirit I would encourage us to take note of these quotes.
"We of Earthwise feel that everyone needs to understand that Wicca is a Religion, not a hobby. The goal of practicing in the Craft is not to see how you can manipulate others to your will or to impress people with the fact that your are a Witch, but to work with your surroundings, to live in harmony with nature and to achieve your highest potential in this lifetime. One of the ways that this is achieved is through initiation."
I think it is important that we realise that the 'dark' motives we often attribute to these people is not encouraged, quite the reverse. We should also note the ethic that is about harmony and potential. The implication is that Christians are bad at this. And yet we have the resources in Christian faith to speak both those languages.
Then there is this.
"All initiates are considered Clergy and may perform teaching, open Circles and various rites of passage, both public and private, although initiations are most often performed by Elders."
Kind of shows up how badly we betray our ideals in practice.

There was an interview down by the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences a while back with Mark Pesce (the inventor of VRML) that you might be interested in following this thread. Came across it when looking at how spirituality and technology intersect.

Since you raise the topic, you may be interested to know I am lined up to attend a pagan drumming workshop in a neighbouring suburb this Friday. Apart from the desire to upgrade the musical skills I am hoping this would also be an opportunity to create bridges of understanding between wiccans and christians in our area so I'd appreciate prayers from the Christian community that I would be attuned to the Spirit and this would indeed be a step towards such as outcome.
good on you Matt; remembering you as I 'face' God explicitly!
Thanks Stephen for the link; looks good.
Andii, Do you have a private email I could email you on? I was directed towards some very interesting behind the scenes pagan links by some wiccan and discording acquaintances earlier tonight. I won't be blogging on it due to the potential for misunderstanding by regular Christians but thought you may be interested.
