Climate campaigners outraged as wind farm plan is axed

An understandable, even predictable reaction. But beyond the position politics posturing, they have a point. The reason for cancelling the project was given as:-
the need to protect the landscape outweighed the benefits of securing a source of renewable energy.

Which as it stands seems a little self-refuting. The point is that without renewables, there may be little future for that landscape as it is. If this becomes a precident ruling, then we are in trouble: the present trumps the future and the future can go to hell.... sheesh!
