Tasmanian miners and Aussie rules spirituality

It's been an item in the news in the UK over the last few days. Clearly the impact Downunder was always going to be bigger. So topicality aside, I'm pleased to commend this blogpost by Phil Johnson offering a reflection on the spiritual dimension to the story. In it he calls attention to a positive witness bt the local churches.
there has been some very good will shown by journalists in reporting the supportive and practical actions of Christians in Beaconsfield, especially the local Uniting Church. The members of that congregation have unpretentiously gone about their ministry offering prayers, counsel to the families involved, providing warm food to the throng of journalists covering the event, and keeping an "open house" with the church building for anyone who needed time to pray or meditate during the entire crisis.

He also does a nice job of thinking about the pneumo-cultural ramifications.
