Churches in the death zone

Over on emerging Kiwi is a reflection which I strongly suspect would apply very much more widely. Steve used this picture to explain organisational development and life-cycle.
Then came the interesting question.
"On the spur of the moment, without really thinking, I asked the group of gathered clergy to self-identify. How many were in a green zone church? A few scattered hands. A blue zone? Again, a few scattered hands.
Red zone?
And the majority of hands went up. I was quite staggered. That represents a huge and very significant leadership challenge for that particular church family. If I was the Bishop, that sea of hands would keep me awake long into the night."

Precisely the question for the UK and I suspect the same sort of answers in similar proportions.
