"Apostasy is a capital offence in Iran"
Should be remembered when thinking about how to measure progress in the Islamic world. The Qur'an says that there is no compulsion in religion. However, Mohammed didn't always agree and since his opinion is represented in Sunna there is an interesting conflict between the former and the latter. And even some division among Muslims as to what to do about it and how to interpret the relevant phrases in relation to one another.
