Having just helped repack one of our tents ahead of Greenbelt. So camping on my mind and this article came into view noting an upsurge of interest in camping recently. I found the analysis interesting and hope-bringing:
"The improvement in kit, and the massive surge in the popularity of festivals in recent years, have coincided with what David Robey, marketing director of Blacks Leisure Group describes as 'an undercurrent of anti-commercialism'. 'Camping is a conscious rejection of more commercial ways of spending your holiday,'"
...especially if you've been maxing out your plastic as recent figures point to.
